Looking to deliver significant digital change to meet their business objectives, a client decided to support their existing in-house technology team with Lorien’s delivery services utilising temporary capability that was flexible and agile. We collaborated with the client to understand and deliver on their unique needs, objectives and budgets.

THE PROBLEM
A countries main economic development agency pinpointed digital transformation as a key enabler to support its strategy and develop the country’s economy.

To meet the significant investment the client planned to place in its digital estate, they decided that it needed to support its permanent in-house team with specialist digital transformation capability that could be flexed and changed through various stages of delivery and according to specific projects.

THE SOLUTION
Each delivery request was managed through a Statement of Work (SoW), with specific work packages provided to meet the unique needs, objectives, budgets, and timeframes of each requirement.

This enabled the client to capitalise on a single, centralised service with known capability for different elements of their transformation agenda, while ensuring that each project was managed from end-to-end and to strict timeframes.

Lorien also provided a programme management layer to oversee the delivery of each work package and ensured that milestones, risks and issues and finance were tracked and reported.

(Today we continue to work as an extension of the client to augment their digital programmes across business transformation, continuous improvement and business-as-usual work packages, ensuring that we can deliver their requirements with agility and at pace.)

THE PROCESS
Lorien provided an end-to-end technology service for the client managing resources and outcomes across a broad range of disciplines, including data, product and delivery, quality assurance testing, technical (e.g. software engineering), and user centred design.

Our scalable, multidisciplinary delivery team, which typically ranged in size between 25 and 40, delivered multiple projects including a platform transformation, improving front end customer experience, and implementing an agile delivery model.

THE OUTCOME
Through the duration of this ongoing partnership the client was able to reduce from 12 suppliers to a single managed partnership. Lorien has worked with the client on over 20 digital programmes, delivering hundreds of project changes. These projects were all delivered on time and to budget, and enabled the business to progress its strategy to boost the country’s economy.
