Commercial Director (Progression to Managing Director)
Location: UK (preferred) or Remote (international candidates considered if aligned to UK working hours)

About the Role
I am currently working with a CMMS, OEE, Maintenance Management, and Asset Management software business as they require a Commercial Director to lead the commercial strategy of a growing industrial software business.
This is a senior leadership role with a clear progression pathway to Managing Director, ideal for a commercially strong, technically capable leader who has experience within CMMS, OEE, Maintenance & Asset Management Software/industrial technology and maintenance-driven software solutions arena.
You will drive revenue growth, lead sales and account management teams, and shape the commercial direction of the business while collaborating closely with technical and operational teams.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and execute market-aligned commercial plans focused on revenue growth and customer value.
- Identify new market opportunities and trends within industrial operations and digitalisation.
Sales Team Leadership
- Manage, develop, and coach the sales organisation, including Account Managers and Business Development staff.
- Oversee pipeline management, forecasting, KPIs, and structured sales processes.
Key Account Management
- Personally manage a selection of high-value, strategically important accounts.
- Lead commercial strategy for complex enterprise customers with maintenance, operations, or engineering requirements.
Operational & Technical Alignment
- Collaborate with product, engineering, delivery, and support teams to align commercial strategy with technical capability.
- Provide technically informed support during scoping, demos, and solution design.
Financial Oversight
- Manage commercial budgets, revenue forecasts, and performance reporting.
Required Experience & Skills
- Extensive experience in CMMS, OEE, Maintenance Management, Asset Management software.
- Strong technical understanding of maintenance systems, asset hierarchies, OEE, plant operations, and software integrations.
- Proven senior leadership experience managing sales teams and key enterprise accounts.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder-management skills, including board-level engagement.
Location & Working Requirements
- UK-based preferred, but strong remote international candidates will be considered.
- Must work core hours aligned with UK time zones (GMT/BST).
- Travel required for key account visits, team collaboration, and industry events.
