Digital Designer - Contract - Global Retailer
Creative Digital Designer
Location: 2 days per week in the Watford Office
Day rate: 350 Outside IR35
Duration: 2 months (rolling)
We're seeking a talented Creative Digital Designer to join our dynamic creative team. You'll play a key role in producing engaging digital content for a leading retail brand, working on high-profile campaigns and collaborating with both internal teams and external partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver on-brand digital communications, including 8-10 marketing emails per week (some with motion graphics)
- Support email project work, proofing, and ongoing template development
- Adapt and create campaign assets for major events (e.g., Red Nose Day, Christmas)
- Stay up to date with e-commerce, eCRM marketing, and motion graphic trends
- Collaborate closely with the Creative Manager and Film Editor to ensure creative alignment and upskill in motion graphics
- Use analytics and campaign performance insights to drive continuous improvement
- Foster a positive, innovative, and collaborative team culture
Requirements
- Graduate-level qualification in Digital Design or similar
- 3+ years' industry experience
- Proficiency in Figma/Adobe XD, Photoshop, After Effects
- Ability to create engaging animations for email (GIFs, lightweight video)
- Knowledge of email marketing platforms and HTML
- Familiarity with UX/UI principles for email
- Basic retouching skills and understanding of analytics
- Strong interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, and a customer-centric mindset
- Experience with task management tools (Microsoft Word, Excel, Trello, Google Docs, etc.)
Desirable:
- Experience with interactive email elements (AMP for Email, CSS animations)
- Knowledge of email analytics and A/B testing
