Senior Platform Engineer - Manchester (Hybrid) - Up to £85K + Bonus

We've partnered with a fast-growing tech business in Manchester that's scaling its platform engineering capabilities to support rapid growth and modernisation. This is your chance to take a strategic role in shaping infrastructure automation and driving DevOps adoption while being embedded in the Data Team, working on critical platforms that power analytics and insights.

The Role

As a Senior Platform Engineer, you'll work within the Data Team and collaborate closely with Platform Engineering, Architecture, and Security.

Your work will span Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD pipelines, and containerisation, using tools like Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes, and Docker. You'll also contribute to strategic projects such as hardware refreshes, market expansion, and monitoring improvements.

What You'll Be Doing

• Architect and automate infrastructure across cloud and on-prem environments.
• Build reusable platform stacks using Kubernetes, Docker, and VMs.
• Integrate CI/CD pipelines and GitOps workflows for seamless delivery.
• Drive automation to reduce configuration drift and improve consistency.
• Support cloud governance, security hardening, and operational readiness.
• Share knowledge and champion DevOps culture across teams.

What You'll Bring

• Strong experience in platform/infrastructure engineering (Linux & Windows).
• Hands-on expertise with IaC tools (Terraform, Ansible).
• Proven experience with Kubernetes and Docker in production environments.
• Solid AWS knowledge (EC2, S3, IAM, VPCs, networking).
• Bonus: Familiarity with VMware stack (vSphere, NSX, VCF).
• Excellent scripting and automation skills.
• Collaborative mindset and openness to change.
