Regulatory Reporting Accountant

6 month contract

£500- £600 inside IR35

Based in London - partly remote

An industry leading insurance company is looking for an experienced Regulatory Reporting Accountant.

This role mainly involves helping our client's Regulatory Reporting team to ensure the timely, complete and accurate completion and submission of various regulatory returns and financial statements to our internal and external customers. In addition, ensuring an appropriate control environment is maintained in all aspects of preparation and reporting.

The successful candidate is expected to have ability to influence across the peer group to ensure Reporting Production and Operations and other teams are supporting the team in delivering statutory and regulatory reports accurately and on a timely basis.

The key responsibilities of the role are:

  • Assist in the preparation of quarterly Solvency returns.
  • Assist in the preparation of Annual returns.
  • Assist with aligning the Syndicate Solvency processes with the company platform processes;
  • Assist with producing detailed process and procedure notes for all processes and deliverables;
  • Understanding the current and future regulatory landscape and identify how these may need to change to support the needs of the business and future Finance requirements.
  • To build and maintain effective relationships within the business;

To do so, you will need to demonstrate the following skills and qualifications:

  • Qualified accountant; ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent
  • Extensive reporting experience and familiarity with regulatory and SII reporting;
  • Extensive experience in the preparation of quarterly Solvency returns.
  • A high degree of IT literacy, with an emphasis on spreadsheet and data handling skills;
  • A high degree of commitment to meeting deadlines under demanding conditions;
  • Demonstrable experience of good planning and organisational skills;
  • Ability to show understanding of, and communicate, results of the analysis undertaken
