Role Specification

As a Power Platform Engineer you would be expected to developed solutions using efficient code, employment of coding standards and community standard practices, along with the following key responsibilities:

  • Developing and adhering to quality assurance procedures relating to code management and peer review processes
  • Identifying areas for enhancing existing applications and participate in the subsequent enhancement implementation
  • Deploying tools, processes and metrics to aid the development and performance management of future solutions
  • Collaboration and participation as part of a broader development team
  • Testing and evaluating new solutions as part of a broader development team
  • Working with peers to determine the operational practicalities of any proposed solution
  • Supporting the training of users in the business on applications developed
  • Documentation of proposed business solutions through product designs and handover documentation.

Key Skills:

  • Microsoft PowerApps - Proven development and implementation expertise
  • Microsoft Power Automate - Understanding of technical aspects using gateways and custom connectors, and orchestration with workflow design
  • Microsoft Power BI - Understanding technical aspects and ability to design and build information dashboards
  • Microsoft Canvas apps - Familiarity with designing layout of screens flows, building and configuring apps, and knowledge of custom connectors and gateways.
  • Microsoft Model driven apps - Familiarity with designing layout of data capture screens with conditional branch processing flow, building and configuring workflow models, and knowledge of custom connectors and gateways.
  • Microsoft Common Data Service - Familiarity with integration of Power Apps Common Data Services and other sources and knowledge on data design and migration practices
  • Implementation of Connectors and custom connectors as part of the PowerApps / Canvas / Model Apps products

Desirable skills:

  • Knowledge of JavaScript, custom actions and plugins
  • Understanding of the value of out of the box connectors and usage thereof
  • Knowledge of the configuration concepts and capabilities
  • Understanding of Application Lifecycle Management Policies and DevOps practices
  • Knowledge of Public Sector working practices (NHS, Council and Local Authority)

Soft Skills required:

  • Ability to collaborate and work in a multi-disciplinary teams and with key stakeholders of varying disciplines
  • Effectively communicate with clients and team members both verbally and in written form
  • Motivated to deliver to a high standard and adaptable to changing business requirement
  • Pride in delivering appropriate solutions that meet the needs of the business to solve operational issues
  • Ability to manage time and deadlines with attention to detail
