UI Designer - Team Lead
I am looking for an experienced, talented UI Designer with a proven experience of managing a team of 4-6 UI Designers. This role is to join one of the UK's oldest Financial Services organisations on a perm basis - This role will join it's expanding Service & Experience Design team, providing in-house design expertise and true user-centered design.
As a business we have 2 x major locations in the UK, London and Swindon but this role offers remote working options across the UK. Travel to Swindon will be needed 1-2 x per month as a max
You'll be a natural leader of people; able to coach positive team behaviours and provide assurance and confidence to those you lead.
As well as helping to successfully shape and deliver projects and/or initiatives, you'll work with other UI managers to deliver the structural and cultural ambitions for the UI team. In terms of your skills and experience, as a minimum, you'll have:
We'll need you to focus obsessively on our members: who they are, what they need, and what motivates them. You'll be meticulous about research and data and have extensive experience leading and collaborating with content and UX designers, project managers, techs, and stakeholders to deliver class-leading member experiences.
In this pivotal role, you'll shape the design's role across a wide range of digital projects, supporting and influencing senior stakeholders, and championing visual design across the business. Comfortable leading multiple projects, you'll make sure we get the right design in the right place at the right time.
You'll be across everything: research, analytics, insight, design, testing. Collaborating with managers of other disciplines, you'll oversee compelling digital experiences and ensure what we agree with our senior stakeholders is what we deliver. You'll represent us as a respected SME at events throughout our business, as well as at relevant external events.
A skilled mentor and people manager, you'll share your knowledge and experience in ways that create a positive, sharing culture where your team is continually encouraged to develop their expertise, raise the quality bar, constructively challenge and create.
