Linux Administrator

We have an excellent opportunity for a Linux Administrator to join our banking clients Infrastructure Team as a Linux Engineer supporting RHEL 6 & 7 with a view of up skiling to Openshift.

These roles are fully remote until next year with a view the of the successful candidate being on site 2-3 days per week in Swindon thereafter.

What you'll be doing

We are looking for people who can work across the whole product life cycle, from development through to production support.

From the development side you will work collaboratively with others to design, build and test the best solutions using Openshift technologies (3 and 4). Using your SME knowledge, you will attend meetings, offer advice/consultancy, build systems and work through problems to provide solid working solutions.

About you - Key Skills

Have a proven track record in providing technical delivery through the design, build and implementation of Redhat Linux and/or Openshift platforms

  • You are an engineer with a passion for Linux based technologies with a thirst for knowledge
    • You have Openshift skills or are willing to learn them and are keen to work in Openshift environments v3.x and/or 4.x
    • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 or 7 System Administration
    • Managing RHEL systems within a Red Hat focused standard operating environment using Red Hat Satellite
    • Ideally you have experience of Openshift Cluster Builds, Openshift patching, and Openshift Cluster customisation via Ansible or Puppet
    • Shell Scripting
  • Be comfortable working across multiple projects and immersing yourself in the team and technologies
  • Be ready to share your expertise with our emerging talent
  • Build good working relationships with both technical and business stakeholders, gaining their respect and trust based on your knowledge and professionalism
  • Have the ability and desire to quickly learn new technologies.

Experience and knowledge of the following areas would be beneficial:

  • RHCSA and/or RHCE certification
  • Ansible and/or Ansible Tower
  • Familiarity with interpretive programming languages such as python.
  • Network and infrastructure security concepts
  • Agile project management methodologies
  • Regulatory environments such as PCI and GDPR
