Lorien are working closely with an Edinburgh based technology client who are currently on the lookout for a Technical Support Engineer to join their growing team.
We are looking for a 1st-2nd Line Technical Support Engineer to join a growing company in Edinburgh. In this role you will provide training and technical support to all employees of the company. You will also support Regional Sales Managers with technical aspects of system specification and design. Travel to various trade shows to show products and carry out demonstrations, this can then lead on to speak to and co-ordinating with customers on special requirements.
A strong understanding of networks (TCP, UDP, RTSP, RTP, NTP, ONVIF etc), platform virtualisation and cloud storage is needed. Flexible and able to travel if required for attending demonstrations and trade shows. Able to explain technical jargon and information to non-technical members of staff, acting as a bridge between the Engineering and Sales departments. Must be confident in providing training desk-side and in a classroom when necessary.
