Complaints & Information Compliance Officer - Inside IR35

Our Client are looking for a Complaints & Information Compliance Officer to join their Complaints & Information Governance team on a 3 month contract initially.

The role involves providing information and advice to members of the public, internal customers and external partners, whilst developing strategies to reduce the number of complaints by looking for on the spot resolution to identified problems.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Recording all information received by the team relating to complaints, data breaches and requests for service from members of the public.
  • Provide reminders of open cases to allocated officers to ensure timescales and performance indicators are met, escalating appropriately to senior officers and managers to prevent cases becoming overdue and out of timescale.
  • Ensure case management systems are up to date, accurate and reliable so that quantitative and qualitative data and performance reports can be produced on a regular basis for discussion at directorate and performance management meetings and forums.

Essential Experience and skills:

  • Demonstrable experience of working with complaints and information governance and customer care. Able to deal tactfully and sensitively with customers and complainants in challenging situations and from a wide range of backgrounds.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of the legislation affecting statutory IG procedures including the Data Protection, Freedom of Information, Environmental Information, privacy and electronic marketing, reuse of information, retention and secure disposal.

Experience working in the public sector is desirable
