Python Developer (MedTech) - fully remote

Here is one of those very rare opportunities to do just that by contributing to the development of life saving diagnostic tools and systems within the Biotechnology industry. This is a fully remote Python development role that can be fulfilled from anywhere in the UK. THE COMPANY For more than a decade, this MedTech company has been developing highly sophisticated molecular diagnostic devices and solutions to quickly, effectively and affordably diagnose a range of diseases resulting in more effective treatment and thus reduced suffering and loss of life. With offices in the UK, US and Asia, the company is staffed and headed by highly educated professionals spanning biological, mechanical and software engineering, all of whom have a passion for making a difference in the world. THE ROLE: Working within the assets team which crosses biological, mechanical and software, you will be contributing to the development and enhancement of the company's molecular diagnostic device platform and internal research programs. Key Responsibilities

  • Developing Python scripts to support research activities within the company
  • Developing testable production Python code for external software release
  • Collaborating with an interdisciplinary team of scientists and engineers
  • Helping to develop and maintain python-based dashboards as part of a team for in-house data curation and automated analysis



  • Python development experience
  • Problem solving skills and a desire to take on complex technical challenges
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a dynamic environment
  • BEng/BSc (or equivalent) degree such as computer science, electronics, software engineering or other relevant subject such as in a STEM field with a strong coding element
  • Be eligible to work full time in the UK without restriction


  • Experience with the Django and/or Flask Python libraries
  • Experience with the scientific Python stack (NumPy, SciPy, matplotlib, Jupyter)
  • Data analytic and data science skills are highly desirable
