Web QA Engineers (Junior to Lead) - Remote/Hybrid - Circa 40-85K plus bonus, flex benefits & more

* Hybrid or Remote working for UK based candidates with occasional visits to either London or Birmingham *

Lorien's client, a very well-known household name (you've probably got one of their apps on your phone right now!) with offices and customers across the globe, is currently looking to bolster their already impressive mobile development function with some great new talent, this time in the shape of Junior to Lead level Web Quality Assurance Engineers.

Before we go into the finer details, here's an insight as to what you can expect in return for your efforts:

  • Great remote working arrangements (with occasional visits to their amazing London or Birmingham offices)
  • Strong remuneration packages in line with level as well as a great bonus scheme
  • Flexible benefits packages which you can tailor to your own preferences
  • Plenty of opportunities for both professional and technical progression (including personal development days to upskill in any areas of interest to you)
  • A successful, growing team of like-minded and technically brilliant people to work with, and a lot more!

Snapshot of the duties involved:

  • Hunt out and prevent any and all bugs and put yourself in the shoes of the customer to steer improvements
  • Reuse & create heuristics/models/personas/etc. in order to test effectively, and test for various risks with accessibility, performance and security in mind along the way
  • Work in a multidisciplinary function including development, design and product specialists to help improve offerings for a global base of around 10 million users and ensure a 5 star digital experience
  • Being a key part of the Agile team, participating in stand ups and also helping to improve processes as you go
  • Be a technically hands-on figure as you work through bugs, and if a more senior QA Engineer, using your knowledge and skills to guide others in the team as they do so too
  • Feeding back to the wider team wherever possible to improve architecture, testability, performance or anything else

And here's what you'll bring to the table:

  • Solid background in QA testing for Web
  • Skills across some of the following: JavaScript, Cypress, Playwright, Puppeteer, WebdriverIO, Jest, AXE, Wave, SpeedCurve, Lighthouse, Jmeter, Taurus, GIT, Postman, GetSandbox, Saucelabs and Applitools
  • A good grasp of *both* manual and automated testing, exploratory testing and other relevant areas
  • Ideally a great GitHub!
  • Ability to learn as you go and pick up new skills / technologies along the way while encouraging others to do so too
  • Knowledge of in-browser development tooling as well as tech like GIT, Postman, GetSandbox, Saucelabs and Applitools or similar

If that sounds of interest so far and you'd like to learn more, pop your latest CV over, and let's have a chat about the finer details to make sure it ticks all your boxes!

We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all suitably qualified persons regardless of their race, sex, disability, religion/belief, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnerships, pregnancy or maternity or age
