Accountant We have an excellent opportunity to work in a business critical, fast-paced project and gain skills and experience of the brand new IFRS17 accounting standard that went live in January 23. This small IFRS17 Expenses team requires a dynamic individual to join us and support ongoing development of Excel EUCs (End User Computing) and analysis of results vs existing reporting standards.   • Complete a range of standard Accountancy and / or analytical functions (including producing financial reports - performance, controls and providing analysis of data, statutory reporting, etc) as required to meet business and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain knowledge and understanding of multiple business processes and different financial reporting bases (as required for role) in order to ensure a comprehensive service provided to all stakeholders.
  • Apply appropriate quality assurance controls to all work produced in the team to ensure the accuracy and validity of the Company's financial information.
  • To support the successful delivery of designated finance activity throughout the project change cycle. Deliveries include accounting requirements captured, reviewed, appropriate scope, validated against IT designs and implemented into BAU efficiently and effectuively. Appropriate MI to stakeholders.
  • Participate in internal discussions and groups as required in order to promote finance interests and work closely with stakeholders across the business
  • Maintaining up to date professional knowledge in an environment of fast moving regulatory change.
  • Maintaining and applying knowledge of multiple reporting bases and area of expertise.
  • Regularly working to defined and tight timescales whilst maintaining professional standards.
  • Balancing competing priorities on different pieces of work in challenging timescales, yet ensuring a continually high quality of output.

What We're Looking ForEssential

  • Strong experience with analysis of vast data sets
  • Advanced Excel Skills
  • Certifications - Association Chartered Certified Accountants / Chartered Institute of Management Accountants
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and collaborative skills.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a complex business environment and work collaboratively across functions
  • High degree of initiative, dependability and ability to work with little supervision.
  • Great attention to details.

Desirable

  • Education - Undergraduate Degree (or equivalent)
  • Good PowerPoint Skills
  • IFRS17 knowledge is an advantage but not a requirement
