DBA

My client is the UK's first and largest online pharmacy, with 20 years' experience, helping over 700,000 patients in England manage their repeat prescriptions from request through to delivery.

Based in Leeds paying £65,000pa with 2 days a week onsite

due to expansion they are hiring for a DBA to join the existing team to assist in developing and maintaining a highly available, secure, and performance data platform. Optimising and monitoring production databases across an estate of Physical, Cloud and PaaS environments.

Responsibilities

Working for a market leading organisation as DBA you will be responsible for the configuration, availability, integrity and security of all databases and data sources. With a natural ability to identify, assess, prioritise and deliver improvements to the environments you are responsible for, you will proactively manage technology and processes to deliver high-quality architecture you can be proud of.

Main Duties

Ensure all database platforms are highly availableEnsure all data sources are secure and access is controlled, reviewed, and auditedContribute to the creation of effective backup, proactive maintenance, and disaster recovery plansSupport BI developers, application experts and middleware developers in their efforts to integrate and report on data in an accurate and reliable mannerWork with third parties for new installations, upgrades, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting and general advice and guidance as required to ensure all delivered services meet requirementsRespond to support escalations from DevOps and technical colleagues, providing specific expertise for troubleshooting as required

Essential

-SQL Server 2019 and Azure SQL-Strong operations experience in troubleshooting and root cause analysis-Experience of performance tuning and optimizing-Strong proficiency with Microsoft T-SQL-Excellent communication skills, and attention to detail-Experience using native and third-party performance monitoring tools such as Redgate SQL Monitor and New Relic
