Role and Responsibilities
In the role, you will be working as part of an agile team to engage as a developer on projects, deliver working software via a modern approach, and contribute to the development of the Application Engineering Practice in the UK. You will possess a solid experience of modern Java development and have experience using DevOps methodologies and tools.
Required Skills
- Experience of automated software build, test, and deployment
- Full SDLC experience using Agile & DevOps methodologies
- Broad understanding of new and emerging technologies
- Lead level Knowledge and Experience in Restful API's and microservice
- Working knowledge of Service Oriented architecture (SOA)
- Exposure to Publish-Subscribe model and event streaming platforms (i.e. Pulsar, Kafka, Flink or AWS Kinesis)
Responsibilities
- Assist in architect, design, development, implementation of complex applications and core utilities
- Understand governing security and compliance policies and ensure applications are designed with security and compliance from the beginning
- Ability to develop business domain expertise and provide technical support to SMEs in that business domain
- Proactively ensure consistent, well documented, and flexible APIs at the system and sub-system level
- Know and champion best practices in many areas of software engineering (security, test ability, reliability, scalability)
- Assist in helping QA to develop quality and performance monitoring programs for specific systems, sub-systems, and components (automated test covered)
