Insights Analyst
Insights Analyst
£45,000 | Hybrid (3 days in office) | Birchwood
The Role
A business spends serious money every month on digital marketing, and it brings in a strong return. But they're now asking whether it could do better. Thousands of customers move use their services each year, giving them loads of data points, the data exists but they need someone to drive the insights. we're helping them find an Insights Analyst who can help make sense of all the data.
Why this role is different
You won't be joining a team of analysts or picking up someone else's reports. You'll be the first, with complete autonomy to shape the role as you see fit. You'll report directly to the CEO, and your findings will go straight to the people who make the decisions. If you show what insight can do, there's a clear path to growing into an Analytics & Insight Manager role and building a team around you.
The small in-house tech team (an Ops/Tech Director and two developers) will help you get the data you need. That means your time goes on finding out what the data means, not on writing queries all day. You'll also have access to AI tools, including OpenAI, and a leadership team that's open to new ways of working.
The questions you'll be answering
- Is the business getting the most from its marketing spend, and where could Google PPC and acquisition do better?
- What happens to customers once they start? Who stays on track, who falls behind, and why?
- Where do customers drop out of the journey, and is it because of what we said, or how and when we said it?
- What patterns show up across different customer demographics?
- How can the existing reports and dashboards be joined up into one clear picture?
- Where could processes, automation or AI make the biggest difference?
What you'll bring
- At least 2 years in an insight-focused role, such as Commercial Analyst, Insights Analyst or BI Analyst
- Experience analysing customer behaviour, the customer journey, or marketing performance (Google PPC is a big plus)
- Experience with demographic analysis or customer segmentation
- Strong Excel skills, plus experience with Power BI or similar tools
- A habit of asking "why?" and the confidence to put that question to senior leaders
- The ability to turn analysis into a clear story and recommendations people can act on
- Experience in a regulated environment, such as financial services, fintech or gambling, which will help you settle in quickly
Pure SQL experience matters less here than commercial curiosity. They want someone who looks beyond the numbers.
The package
- £45,000 salary
- Monday to Friday, 9-5 (37.5 hours), with an hour of flexibility either side
- Hybrid working, 3 days in the office (once you've had time to get to know the business)
- 25 days' holiday plus bank holidays
- Company pension and an employee benefits scheme
- Free on-site parking (the office is best reached by car)
