Production Operator: Precious Metals Manufacturing

Location: Royston
Contract type: 12 months
Salary: 21.55 per hour

About the role

Our client, a well-established specialist in precious metals and advanced materials, is looking for a Production Operator to join its manufacturing team. You'll help produce platinum group metal (PGM) alloys, processing ingots into finished components for further processing or sale to customers.

Key responsibilities

• Working safely and reporting any incidents promptly
• Following operating procedures and recording process information accurately
• Setting up and operating machinery to agreed standards
• Using measuring equipment (including micrometers and tensile testing machines) and SPC charts to monitor product quality
• Preparing quality samples and inspection documentation
• Inspecting and packaging materials

About you

• A willingness to follow safe systems of work
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow procedures accurately
• Good communication skills and a team-player attitude
• Experience in a manufacturing environment, good manual dexterity and basic Word/Excel skills are desirable

Good to know

• Factory-based role, with manual handling of items up to 20kg at times
• Uniform and PPE required at all times
• A restricted metals policy applies (limits on metal items such as jewellery, wallets and phones), and employees are searched when leaving the site
