Customer Service Advisor - Home-Based
Payrate: £13.47 per hour via PAYE (Any hours worked over the 37.5 Monday-Saturday paid time and a half, Any hours worked on a Sunday or bank holiday are paid at double time the rate.)
Contract Length - 5 Month Contract
We're looking for a confident, compassionate and customer-focused Customer Service Advisor to join our client's team on a minimum 5-month contract.
This is a home-based role supporting customers across the UK. You'll be responsible for handling customer enquiries, processing account updates and payments, and ensuring every interaction is handled accurately, professionally and with empathy.
Working Hours
- 37.5 hours per week
- Operating hours: Monday to Sunday, 8:00am-8:00pm
- Typical shifts are generally between 8:00am and 6:00pm, although shift patterns may vary.
- Every Monday required.
- Every second Saturday.
- 1 in 4 Sundays.
- Flexibility required over the Christmas and New Year period.
- You must be willing to work one Bank Holiday during the Christmas and New Year period.
What You'll Do
- Handle inbound and outbound customer calls, managing approximately 8 calls per hour.
- Respond to customer enquiries with empathy, professionalism and clarity.
- Support customers through potentially sensitive or challenging conversations.
- Process changes of address and other account updates accurately.
- Take payments and update customer records in line with internal procedures.
- Maintain accurate notes and records during and after customer interactions.
- Use multiple internal systems and databases to record information and support customer needs.
- Ensure customer interactions are compliant with relevant FCA regulatory requirements.
- Deliver a consistently high standard of customer service to customers across the UK.
What We're Looking For
You'll ideally have previous experience in a call centre, contact centre or customer service environment, with a genuine ability to listen, understand and support customers.
We're looking for candidates who can demonstrate:

- Excellent active listening and interpersonal skills.
- Experience handling challenging or sensitive customer conversations.
- A naturally empathetic and compassionate approach.
- Strong administration skills and excellent attention to detail.
- Confidence using multiple IT systems while speaking with customers.
- The ability to multitask and update records accurately during live calls.
- The ability to work accurately and efficiently in a high-volume environment.
- Confidence working independently as well as part of a supportive team.
Training & Support
You'll receive 1-2 weeks of training at the start of the contract to help you become confident with the systems, processes and responsibilities of the role.
