Azure Data Architect - Local Authority

• Location: Hybrid - Bristol (2 days per week in the office)
• Duration: 6 Months
• Contract:£870 per day
• IR35 Scope: Inside of IR35

We're looking for an experienced Data Architect to support a major digital and data transformation programme within the West of England Mayoral Combined Authority.

This is a strategic architecture role, ideal for someone who enjoys shaping enterprise data platforms, defining target-state architectures, and influencing long-term data strategy.

Key responsibilities:
✔ Assess existing Azure Databricks lakehouse environments
✔ Define the target data architecture and future roadmap
✔ Recommend platform consolidation, separation, or federated operating models
✔ Establish enterprise data architecture standards and governance
✔ Work closely with technical and business stakeholders to align data strategy with organisational objectives

We're looking for experience in:
* Enterprise Data Architecture
* Azure Data Platform & Azure Databricks
* Modern Data Lakehouse architectures
* Data modelling (conceptual, logical & physical)
* Data integration and pipeline design
* Data governance, metadata management & data lineage
* Enterprise-scale platform design and transformation
* Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
