Regional Support & Desktop Engineer
Regional Support & Delivery Engineer | DV Clearable
We're looking for a Regional Support & Delivery Engineer to provide application support, technical delivery and implementation engineering across a range of systems and projects. This role combines hands-on IT support with real delivery responsibility - you'll be running work packages, not just tickets.
What you'll be doing:
- Providing application support: service request fulfilment, incident/problem/configuration/change management, monitoring, tuning, upgrades and patching
- Providing technical support across the systems development lifecycle, from solution design through to implementation
- Delivering quality products on time and within budget, aligned to the roadmap and team capacity
- Owning continuous delivery across multiple projects
- Working with cross-functional teams to define and produce solutions that meet customer objectives
- Planning and securing the right levels of resource
- Identifying issues and recommending solutions to the programme manager
- Driving work packages to a successful conclusion, resolving conflict where needed
- Reporting progress and status to the project board/programme manager
- Providing implementation engineering - directly or supporting third parties - including troubleshooting and documentation
What you'll need:
- 2+ years' Technical/IT Support experience
- 2+ years' experience in delivery or project management of small/medium work packages
- Experience of information analysis and risk management
- Knowledge of agile/scrum/lean startup best practice, and experience delivering value through agile methodologies
- Excellent communication skills, able to convey technical information to technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience with RHEL and MS Windows Server
- Experience with the Microsoft Product Suite, including M365
- Networking and security knowledge (DNS/TCP-IP/NFS/SAMBA/Web Protocols/SSL/TLS/Certificates)
- Full UK driving licence
- Experience with hardware (servers, data centres, PCs), network (switches, routers, modems, VPNs, firewalls) or software (operating systems, enterprise systems, web servers)
- Able to work independently, prioritising and making decisions confidently and quickly
- Experience working collaboratively in a project team
- Active DV clearance or DV clearable
- Able to work 5 days a week on-site
Desirable:
- Formal PM qualification (Prince2, APMP)
- Ability to lead a team of engineers
- Experience with Cloud IT infrastructure
