Technical Delivery Lead

We are currently recruiting for a Technical Delivery Lead with AI experience to join one of our Insurance clients on a 6-month contract

Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end delivery of technology initiatives and programmes.
• Develop and maintain delivery plans, milestones, forecasts, and release schedules.
• Facilitate effective prioritisation and backlog management activities.
• Coordinate delivery activities across multiple technical teams and workstreams.
• Manage dependencies between business, architecture, engineering, data, infrastructure, security, and operational teams.
• Establish and maintain RAID management processes.
• Ensure appropriate governance, approvals, and delivery controls are followed.
• Facilitate Agile ceremonies and delivery cadence activities.
• Monitor progress against plans and provide accurate status reporting.
• Escalate risks and issues proactively, providing options and recommendations.
• Support estimation, planning, and resource forecasting activities.
• Drive delivery readiness activities including testing, release planning, and operational transition.
• Collaborate with Solution Architects and Engineering Leads to ensure technical and delivery alignment.
• Promote engineering excellence, delivery discipline, and continuous improvement practices.
• Support portfolio, programme, and steering committee governance processes.
• Leverage delivery metrics and performance indicators to improve predictability and flow.

Experience

• 5+ years' experience delivering technology solutions in software engineering, platform engineering, architecture, systems analysis, technical project management, or similar disciplines.
• Demonstrable experience managing end-to-end technology delivery initiatives.
• Strong understanding of software engineering and technology delivery practices.
• Experience working with cross-functional engineering teams.
• Proven track record managing complex stakeholder environments.
• Experience managing risks, dependencies, governance, and delivery controls.
• Previous hands-on experience as a Software Engineer, Architect, Systems Analyst, Platform Engineer, QA Engineer, or similar technical role.
• Experience within regulated industries.
• Agile, Scrum, SAFe, PRINCE2, or equivalent certifications.
• Experience delivering cloud transformation or modernisation initiatives.
• Experience using DORA metrics, Flow Metrics, Value Stream Management, or similar delivery performance frameworks.
• Experience leading AI-enabled or AI-native delivery initiatives.
