DevOps Architect

We are recruiting for a DevOps Architect with DevSecOps experience to join one of our Insurance clients on a 6-month contract.

• Define the strategic vision for DevOps, Platform Engineering, and Developer Experience.
• Establish and govern enterprise standards for CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, automation, observability, and operational readiness.
• Create and maintain platform architecture roadmaps and engineering enablement strategies.
• Design reference architectures and reusable platform patterns.
• Define deployment, promotion, rollback, and environment management standards.
• Lead adoption of Infrastructure as Code and Platform as a Product approaches.
• Drive implementation of DevSecOps controls throughout the SDLC.
• Partner with Solution Architects and Technical Architects to ensure delivery platforms support application and data architectures.
• Support cloud adoption and platform modernisation initiatives.
• Drive engineering productivity improvements through automation and selfservice capabilities.
• Evaluate and introduce emerging DevOps, platform, and AI-enabled engineering technologies.
• Mentor Platform Engineers, DevOps Engineers, Site Reliability Engineers, and Engineering Leads.

Experience

• Typically 10+ years' experience across Platform Engineering, DevOps Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, Cloud Engineering, SRE, or Architecture disciplines.
• Demonstrable experience defining enterprise DevOps or Platform Engineering strategies.
• Deep hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, cloud engineering, and automation.
• Experience leading engineering transformation initiatives.
• Experience designing modern cloud-native delivery platforms.
• Strong stakeholder management and architecture governance experience.
• Strong understanding of software engineering, infrastructure engineering, and operational delivery models. Desirable
• Previous experience as a Platform Engineer, DevOps Engineer, SRE, Software Engineer, or Infrastructure Architect.
• Cloud architecture certifications.
• Kubernetes and container platform certifications.
• Experience implementing DORA metrics, Value Stream Management, or Flow Metrics.
• Experience with AI-enabled engineering platforms and Agentic SDLC capabilities.
• Experience within a regulated financial services environment.
