Portfolio Manager | 6-Month Contract | Inside IR35

We're seeking an experienced Portfolio Manager to help build and evolve a Strategic PMO capability at the centre of a major business and technology transformation programme.

This is more than portfolio reporting and governance.

We're looking for someone who has established, scaled or transformed a Strategic PMO, Portfolio Office or Transformation function and can bring the structure, leadership and strategic thinking needed to create a high-performing capability.

You'll work directly with senior business and technology leaders, helping shape how investment decisions are made, how change is prioritised, and how successful delivery is measured across a complex portfolio.

What You'll Be Doing

• Helping define and embed the operating model for a growing Strategic Planning & Performance function.
• Designing portfolio governance, planning and reporting frameworks that enable better decision-making.
• Driving executive-level portfolio reporting, KPIs, dashboards and performance insights.
• Supporting strategic prioritisation, demand management and investment planning.
• Leading portfolio governance forums and influencing senior stakeholders.
• Managing risks, dependencies, resources and portfolio health across a significant transformation landscape.
• Continuously improving PMO processes, ways of working and portfolio management standards.

What We're Looking For

You will likely come from a Strategic PMO, Enterprise PMO, Portfolio Office, Transformation Office or consulting background and have experience:

• Setting up, scaling or transforming PMO and portfolio management functions.
• Creating governance frameworks, delivery standards and operating models.
• Supporting large-scale business and technology transformation programmes.
• Influencing senior executives and challenging stakeholders constructively.
• Driving portfolio performance through data, insight and strategic planning.
• Operating effectively in fast-paced, ambiguous environments where processes are still being built.
• Bridging the gap between business strategy and delivery execution.
