Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer to join a globally distributed Derivatives Clearing technology team within a leading financial markets organisation.

Working within a high-performing engineering environment, you will contribute to the design, development and optimisation of software solutions that support critical clearing and post-trade business functions. The role offers the opportunity to work across the full software development lifecycle, influence technical design decisions, and help deliver scalable, secure and resilient applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop scalable full-stack applications using modern technologies and engineering best practices.
  • Participate in requirements gathering, solution design and architecture discussions.
  • Build, maintain and enhance both front-end applications and back-end services.
  • Collaborate with globally distributed teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
  • Drive improvements in software design, code quality and development standards.
  • Contribute to integration testing, UAT and production-ready releases.
  • Support the adoption of CI/CD, automation and low-touch deployment practices.
  • Work closely with architecture, engineering and support teams to ensure robust, secure and reliable delivery.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong experience delivering full-stack software solutions in enterprise environments.
  • Commercial experience with:
    • Java
    • TypeScript / JavaScript
    • SQL databases, including MS SQL Server
    • Angular (React experience also considered)
  • Experience building and integrating front-end applications with backend services.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working within Agile delivery environments using tools such as Jira, Bitbucket and Jenkins.
  • Knowledge of secure coding practices and modern architectural patterns.
  • Experience collaborating with distributed development teams.

Desirable Experience

  • Microservices architecture.
  • Docker and Kubernetes.
  • DevOps, CI/CD and automated deployment practices.
  • Architecture and solution design exposure.
  • Financial markets experience, particularly within:
    • Clearing
    • Settlement
    • Trade Lifecycle Management
    • Asset Servicing
    • Post-Trade Processing
