An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer to join a globally distributed Derivatives Clearing technology team within a leading financial markets organisation.
Working within a high-performing engineering environment, you will contribute to the design, development and optimisation of software solutions that support critical clearing and post-trade business functions. The role offers the opportunity to work across the full software development lifecycle, influence technical design decisions, and help deliver scalable, secure and resilient applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable full-stack applications using modern technologies and engineering best practices.
- Participate in requirements gathering, solution design and architecture discussions.
- Build, maintain and enhance both front-end applications and back-end services.
- Collaborate with globally distributed teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
- Drive improvements in software design, code quality and development standards.
- Contribute to integration testing, UAT and production-ready releases.
- Support the adoption of CI/CD, automation and low-touch deployment practices.
- Work closely with architecture, engineering and support teams to ensure robust, secure and reliable delivery.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong experience delivering full-stack software solutions in enterprise environments.
- Commercial experience with:
- Java
- TypeScript / JavaScript
- SQL databases, including MS SQL Server
- Angular (React experience also considered)
- Experience building and integrating front-end applications with backend services.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working within Agile delivery environments using tools such as Jira, Bitbucket and Jenkins.
- Knowledge of secure coding practices and modern architectural patterns.
- Experience collaborating with distributed development teams.
Desirable Experience
- Microservices architecture.
- Docker and Kubernetes.
- DevOps, CI/CD and automated deployment practices.
- Architecture and solution design exposure.
- Financial markets experience, particularly within:
- Clearing
- Settlement
- Trade Lifecycle Management
- Asset Servicing
- Post-Trade Processing
