£457 per day (Inside IR35)

Our main public sector client is currently looking for an experienced Scrum Master to join their team on an initial 9-month contract.

The Role

You'll play a key role in enabling effective Agile delivery across one or more multidisciplinary teams. Acting as a servant leader, you'll coach teams, facilitate Scrum ceremonies, and drive continuous improvement to ensure high-quality outcomes aligned with organisational goals.

You'll work closely with Product Owners, Delivery Managers, Developers, Business Analysts, and stakeholders to embed Agile best practices, improve team performance, and deliver value consistently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Reviews, Retrospectives) ensuring they are productive and outcome-focused
  • Coach Agile teams on Scrum principles, values, and practices to improve maturity and self-organisation
  • Identify, track, and remove blockers impacting delivery
  • Support backlog refinement, prioritisation, and sprint planning alongside Product Owners and data specialists
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement through retrospectives and actionable insights
  • Protect teams from distractions and unplanned work to maintain focus on delivery
  • Support Agile planning activities including estimation, capacity planning, and dependency management
  • Use Agile metrics (velocity, cycle time, throughput) to improve transparency and forecasting
  • Encourage strong collaboration and communication across teams and stakeholders
  • Contribute to wider Agile adoption, mentoring colleagues and sharing best practices

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience as a Scrum Master or in a similar Agile delivery role (2-5+ years)
  • Strong experience facilitating Scrum ceremonies in complex environments
  • Demonstrable Agile coaching experience, improving team performance and delivery
  • Experience working with data-focused teams and stakeholders
  • Strong track record of removing impediments and driving delivery outcomes
  • Experience using Agile metrics to support decision-making and improvement
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Experience working across the full delivery lifecycle (discovery through to live service)
  • Hands-on experience with Agile tools such as Jira and Confluence
