Data Consultant - 3-Month Contract
Up to £550 per day (Outside IR35)
Manchester - Hybrid (2 days on-site per week)

We're working with a well‑established organisation in the gambling and gaming sector that is looking to bring in a Data Consultant for a targeted discovery and documentation assignment.

This is a practical, hands‑on opportunity suited to someone who is comfortable entering complex, legacy-heavy data environments and turning them into something clear, maintainable, and less dependent on individual expertise.

The role

You will be responsible for:

• Analysing and deconstructing live data platforms where documentation is minimal or missing
• Mapping out the existing data architecture and end-to-end data flows
• Reviewing and documenting key SQL queries and transformation processes that underpin business operations
• Creating clear, usable documentation and operational runbooks
• Partnering with experienced engineers to capture critical knowledge and mitigate reliance on key individuals

The emphasis is on documentation, stability, and effective knowledge transfer, rather than building new systems or undertaking platform migrations.

What we're looking for

• Proven experience in data discovery, platform analysis, or reverse-engineering initiatives
• Previous roles such as Data Consultant, Data Architect, or similar
• Strong proficiency with SQL / SQL Server and AWS-based data environments
• Ability to produce architecture diagrams, data dictionaries, and operational documentation

Contract details

• Day rate: Up to £550
• Engagement: Outside IR35
• Location: Central Manchester (2 days per week in the office)
• Initial length: 3 months
