About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Programme Manager to lead a high‑profile retail transformation programme within a dynamic, customer‑centric environment.

This position offers the chance to take charge of a complex, large‑scale platform initiative, ensuring that technology delivery is seamlessly aligned with operational realities, seasonal trading demands, and evolving business priorities. You will play a pivotal role in shaping delivery strategy while also remaining close enough to execution to ensure results are achieved.

The Opportunity

This role sits at the centre of a significant retail change programme, where innovation must be balanced with the demands of a live trading environment and strict compliance standards.

You will collaborate across business and technology teams to ensure delivery is aligned not only to commercial goals and peak trading periods, but also to retail regulatory and compliance requirements (including payments, consumer protection, and data governance). Your ability to bring order, transparency, and momentum across multiple workstreams will be key to success.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and drive end‑to‑end delivery of a major retail programme, aligning technology initiatives with operational and trading needs
• Develop and maintain programme plans, roadmaps, and delivery milestones in line with business priorities and seasonal peaks
• Work closely with cross‑functional teams including retail operations, compliance, risk, payments, and engineering
• Ensure adherence to retail compliance standards and regulatory requirements throughout the delivery lifecycle
• Manage programme risks, dependencies, and resource allocation across multiple concurrent streams of work
• Provide clear and concise reporting to senior stakeholders, offering insight into progress, risks, and outcomes
• Improve delivery effectiveness by implementing structured processes, governance, and performance metrics
• Apply appropriate delivery methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid) based on the needs of each workstream
• Lead internal teams and external partners, fostering alignment, accountability, and consistent progress

What We're Looking For

• Demonstrated experience delivering complex programmes within retail or similarly regulated, customer‑focused sectors
• Strong knowledge of retail environments, including trading cycles, store/online operations, and compliance requirements
• Proven experience managing programmes with a strong regulatory or compliance component (e.g. payments, PCI-DSS, GDPR, consumer regulations)
• Comfortable working across different delivery frameworks including Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid models
• Ability to engage at senior stakeholder level while also taking a hands‑on approach when necessary
• Strong organisational and problem‑solving skills, with a focus on outcomes and value delivery
• Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements in delivery performance
