Business Analyst

Business Analyst - Up to £450 per day Outside IR35 - 12 Months - Edinburgh (Hybrid)

One of Lorien's key public sector clients is looking for an experienced Business Analyst to join their team on an initial 12‑month contract (Possible 12 month extension)

Key Responsibilities:

• Facilitating workshops with stakeholders to gather and define business requirements
• Mapping AS‑IS and TO‑BE processes across complex systems and operational areas
• Producing clear user stories, epics and acceptance criteria for Agile delivery teams
• Working closely with Product Owners and technical teams to prioritise and refine backlogs
• Supporting end‑to‑end delivery from discovery through to implementation and UAT
• Engaging with cross-functional stakeholders to align business needs and technical solutions
• Conducting impact assessments and identifying opportunities for process improvement
• Supporting delivery within fast-paced Agile environments with multiple workstreams
• Ensuring requirements traceability and maintaining high-quality documentation standards

Key Skills & Experience:

• Strong experience working as a Business Analyst within Agile environments
• Proven track record delivering digital transformation or system change projects
• Experience mapping business processes (AS‑IS / TO‑BE)
• Strong stakeholder engagement and workshop facilitation skills
• Experience writing user stories, epics and managing product backlogs
• Experience working across full SDLC (discovery to delivery)
• Ability to operate independently and quickly get up to speed in complex environments
• Experience working with cross-functional technical and business teams
• Previous public sector or regulated industry experience is beneficial
