Delivery Lead (AI)

Bringing structure, momentum, and clarity to AI delivery at scale

We're looking for an experienced Delivery Lead (AI) to support and coordinate the delivery of AI‑enabled products and technical capabilities across a growing organisation.

This is a senior delivery role, operating across multiple teams and initiatives, with responsibility for bringing coherence, pace, and control to an evolving AI delivery roadmap. You'll sit at the centre of complex workstreams, working closely with engineers, AI practitioners, product leaders, and fellow delivery managers to ensure work is well‑planned, well‑resourced, and progressing smoothly.

AI adoption is accelerating, and delivery models are still emerging. This role suits someone who thrives in ambiguous, fast‑moving environments, using judgement, prioritisation, and clear communication rather than over‑reliance on rigid frameworks.

What you'll be doing

Your role is to make AI delivery work in practice, across multiple teams and priorities.

You will:

  • Own and coordinate delivery across AI‑related workstreams, pulling disparate inputs into a clear, coherent delivery plan
  • Manage financials and commercials for AI delivery, including forecasting, tracking spend, and supporting commercial decision‑making
  • Work closely with engineering teams to maintain momentum across multiple parallel initiatives
  • Act as a central escalation point for delivery risks and issues, ensuring visibility and timely resolution
  • Support and coordinate other delivery managers contributing to the AI strategy, aligning plans and sharing good practice
  • Translate technical concepts - such as architectures, data pipelines, and AI engineering approaches - into clear, accessible language for stakeholders
  • Plan and prioritise work packages, balancing short‑term delivery needs with longer‑term roadmap goals
  • Apply pragmatic agile and lean practices, adapting them to suit AI teams and their level of maturity
  • Maintain delivery pace in a dynamic, sometimes ambiguous environment
  • Build strong relationships with demanding stakeholders, balancing expectations with delivery reality
  • Contribute to team leadership and, as teams grow, support line management where needed

What we're looking for

This role is ideal for a delivery professional who combines organisation, credibility, and adaptability.

Essential experience:

  • Experience working as a Delivery Manager / Delivery Lead (or equivalent) in AI or highly technical environments
  • Around 2-3 years' experience delivering AI‑related or AI‑adjacent work
  • Strong understanding of financial and commercial delivery, including budgeting, forecasting, and spend tracking
  • Credible technical understanding - able to engage confidently with engineers on architecture and tooling
  • Experience coordinating delivery across multiple products or teams, managing competing priorities
  • Strong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to multitask effectively
  • Confident communicator across technical and non‑technical stakeholders
  • Comfortable maintaining momentum where processes and ways of working are still forming
  • A people‑focused leadership style that brings teams together

Desirable experience

  • Background as a technical project manager, senior scrum master, or engineer
  • Hands‑on exposure to AI platforms, Python‑based systems, or AI/ML tooling
  • Ability to explain how AI systems are built, deployed, and operated without being a specialist engineer
  • Experience supporting or line‑managing delivery roles as teams scale
  • Familiarity with enterprise or hub‑and‑spoke delivery models

If you enjoy making hard things deliverable, working across technology and people, and navigating environments where not everything is defined, this role offers real responsibility and impact.
