Head of Digital

Contract: 6 months (initially) - Inside IR35 (via umbrella)
Day Rate: £800 - £1,000 per day
Location: London
Office requirement: 3-4 days per week on site

Overview

We are working with a global luxury retail brand to appoint an experienced Head of Digital on a contract basis. This is a senior, hands‑on role with end‑to‑end accountability for the organisation's digital content capabilities across global markets.

You will own the digital content roadmap and delivery across CMS, PIM, Search and Merchandising, leading multiple delivery streams and partnering closely with senior commercial and technology stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Full end‑to‑end ownership of global digital content platforms, from strategy and roadmap through to delivery and BAU support
• Lead multiple concurrent delivery streams (2-4), ensuring high‑quality, on‑time outcomes
• Act as the senior stakeholder interface across Digital, IT, Commercial and wider business teams
• Manage complex budgets across BAU Opex, Project Opex and Capex
• Lead and negotiate with key technology and delivery vendors
• Oversee content platforms including CMS, PIM, Search and Merchandising, ensuring scalability and security
• Partner closely with Engineering, Architecture, UX, Testing and A/B experimentation teams
• Drive continuous improvement and innovation within digital content capabilities

Essential Requirements

• Proven senior leadership experience across global web platforms, ideally within fashion or luxury retail
• Strong hands‑on knowledge of PIM, CMS, Search and Merchandising technologies
• Demonstrable experience running multiple delivery streams simultaneously
• Exceptional stakeholder management skills, operating confidently at Director and C‑suite level
• Strong experience managing complex budgets and leading major vendor negotiations
• Comfortable working on‑site in London 3-4 days per week
• Background in product leadership, programme leadership, or senior digital delivery roles
