Occassional travel between UK sites may be required.
Our Life Sciences client is seeking a HR Business Partner to join them on a 6-month contract basis. Sitting within the UK HR team, you will act as the first line of support for managers across multiple UK sites, providing guidance on people‑related matters that fall outside routine HR operations.
Key Responsibilities
Employee Relations & HR Advisory
- Serve as the central point of contact for ER matters including disciplinary, performance, and absence management.
- Provide consistent, timely, pragmatic HR advice to line managers across UK locations.
- Respond to general HR queries and guide managers through people processes.
People Processes & HR Systems
- Drive annual HR processes including performance management and the compensation cycle.
- Manage HR transactions and support activity in Workday, ensuring data accuracy and compliance.
- Support managers and employees in understanding HR policies, systems, and processes.
Data & Insights
- Build HR reports and develop tools that provide meaningful insights for decision‑making.
- Analyse data trends to identify opportunities for organisational improvements.
- Use insight-led approaches to support people initiatives.
Policy Development & Continuous Improvement
- Contribute to policy updates and ensure consistent implementation across all UK sites.
- Identify opportunities to streamline HR processes and enhance efficiency.
Talent, Training & Recruitment
- Act as the first point of contact for recruitment activity, supporting managers and recruitment teams to progress vacancies effectively.
- Work with HR colleagues to identify training needs and support the roll‑out of development programmes.
Change & Transformation
- Support the implementation and communication of HR initiatives and change programmes.
- Ensure effective adoption of new ways of working across the UK business.
Experience Required
Essential
- Strong HR generalist background with broad exposure across the employee lifecycle.
- Solid experience managing employee relations matters.
- Excellent knowledge of UK employment law.
- Experience using HR systems (Workday experience highly advantageous).
- Strong analytical skills with a data‑driven mindset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and virtual collaboration tools (e.g., Zoom).
- Proven stakeholder management experience.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
Desirable
- CIPD qualified (or working toward qualification).
- Experience within a global, matrixed organisation.
