Enterprise Architect - London (Contract)

Future‑State Architecture · Roadmapping · Capability Modelling

Are you a strategic thinker who can translate complex business needs into clear, long‑term architectural direction? We're looking for an Enterprise Architect to shape the future‑state architecture of a large, data‑driven organisation - defining capabilities, governance frameworks and technology roadmaps that enable sustainable, scalable growth.

This role will suit someone who brings a balance of big‑picture vision and practical delivery experience, alongside the communication skills to influence senior stakeholders.

What you'll be doing

In this role, you'll take ownership of the organisation's long‑term architectural planning and ensure change programmes are aligned to a coherent, well‑governed architecture. Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the development of future‑state business and technology architectures
  • Creating and maintaining capability models to guide investment and transformation activity
  • Developing architecture principles, standards and governance processes
  • Working across portfolios and change programmes to ensure architectural alignment
  • Building and maintaining technology roadmaps that support strategic priorities

Who we're looking for

You'll be someone who is comfortable operating at an enterprise level, shaping architectural direction while remaining hands‑on enough to work with delivery teams.

You'll bring:

  • Proven experience in enterprise‑level architecture delivery
  • Strong background in data‑oriented organisations or data‑heavy environments
  • Experience supporting large portfolios or complex change programmes
  • Proficiency with architecture frameworks, modelling approaches and architecture tooling
  • Excellent communication, able to influence and guide both technical and non‑technical stakeholders

Why this role?

This is a high‑impact opportunity to set architectural direction across a major organisation, shaping how technology, data and business capabilities evolve over time. You'll work at the intersection of strategy and delivery, with the autonomy to bring clarity, governance and future‑focused thinking to some of the organisation's most important initiatives. If interested, apply now!
