Role: Automation Tester

Location: UK-based (Hybrid working available)
Contract Length: 6 months (initially)
Start Date: ASAP

Overview:
Our leading Financial Services client is seeking an experienced Automation Tester to join their technology team. This role will focus on designing and maintaining robust automated test frameworks for web and API-based applications, contributing to quality assurance across the software development lifecycle.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and test suites.
  • Collaborate with developers to embed quality and testability from the outset.
  • Perform code reviews and contribute to testing best practices.
  • Identify, record, and track bugs through to resolution.
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Analyse test results and provide actionable insights.
  • Support performance, load, and security testing efforts as needed.

Required Experience & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in automation testing.
  • Proficiency in Java fundamentals.
  • Hands-on experience with framework development and maintenance.
  • Experience with tools such as Selenium, UiPath, Cypress, JUnit.
  • Strong understanding of QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
  • Experience with RESTful API testing (e.g., Postman, REST Assured).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI).
  • Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of BDD/TDD practices and tools (e.g., Cucumber, Gauge, PactFlow).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter).
  • Exposure to cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
