On 9th July 2025, Impellam Group hosted 14 teams, at Dorney Lake for our annual fundraising races; a day of fun, energy, generosity, collaboration, and celebration – all enjoyed in a warm, friendly atmosphere and the even warmer summer sunshine.
Teams from brands across Impellam Group – Lorien, SRG, Carbon60, Guidant Global, and Comensura – as well as Lia’s Wings and several of our wonderful clients, including British Airways, Virgin Atlantic, 10,000 Interns Foundation, Abbvie, Workforce Solutions, Entain and The Royal Navy, took to the water throughout the day, racing two at a time with the goal of becoming Impellam Dragon Boat Racing Champions 2025.
As always, the racing was intense and hotly contested, and following many competitive heats and two semi-finals, the Digital Pirates team from the Royal Navy took the crown for a third consecutive year, pipping Abbvie’s Dream Dragon’s team to the post in the finale.
Ashore, there was plenty of fun to be had too. Human foosball and sitting volleyball – hosted by Sitting Bucks – presented other opportunities to connect and burn off some competitive energy, meanwhile a fantastic raffle was held to help us raise a much money as possible.
By the end of the day, there were plenty of weary legs, arms and a few sunburnt ones too. But, of course, it was all worth it, having raised almost £10,000 for Lia’s Wings to support their remarkable work in facilitating air travel for – and supporting the families of – critically ill children.
This is an amazing achievement, one that’ll have a big impact on Lia’s Wings, the work they do, and the people they help, and we couldn’t be more thankful to everyone involved, including our event sponsors Focused Group and PayStream.
