The company is seeking an exceptional Information Governance Officer to join their team and play a crucial role in ensuring the organisation's compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.

About the Role

As the Information Governance Officer, you will be responsible for providing expert advice and guidance to the company's National Team, Board Members, volunteer community, and Clerks on a wide range of information governance issues. This will include supporting the Information Governance and Data Protection Officer in managing information security incidents, ensuring appropriate safeguards are in place for data sharing, and contributing to major projects by integrating information governance considerations.

You will also be involved in delivering responses to statutory requests for information, such as Freedom of Information Requests and Subject Access Requests, as well as assisting with the identification, assessment, and management of risks related to information governance.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate for the Information Governance Officer role will have a strong track record of working with and understanding relevant information governance legislation, including the UK GDPR, Data Protection Act 2018, Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002, and the Public Records (Scotland) Act 2011.

You should also have experience in communicating complex information to a range of audiences, both through written reports and presentations, as well as a demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
