Network Specialist- Inside IR35 - 12 Months.

Are you a skilled Network Specialist looking for a new challenge? One of Loriens leading Public Sector Clients is seeking a talented individual to join their team and play a crucial role in supporting and maintaining their robust network infrastructure.

This position will require in office working in Edinburgh based offices, 2-3 days a week.

The Role of the Network Specialist

As the Network Specialist, you will be responsible for the support and maintenance of this company's network and Network Security Infrastructure. Your primary focus will be to ensure that all network components, including switches, firewalls, routers, and Unified Communication platforms for video and voice, are working optimally and are appropriately patched.

You will collaborate closely with other members of the systems team to guarantee the reliable availability of the company's digital services for all users. Additionally, you will contribute to the company's Digital Strategy, supporting the continuous enhancement of their service offerings.

Required Skills and Experience

To excel in this Network Specialist role, you should possess the following qualifications and experience:

  • Formal training in IT, preferably in Network Technologies and Unified Communications Support/Design, as evidenced by certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or CCNA Routing and Switching/Security.
  • Significant experience working in the Networking Support/Design fields, with a deep understanding of network security and security controls.
  • Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with Information & Communications Technology solutions, as well as a detailed understanding of Cisco architecture and integration.
  • Advanced networking skills, including expertise in firewalls, security, and VoIP/Video systems.
  • Proficiency in using operating systems such as Windows and Unix/Linux, as well as a working knowledge of integrated and non-integrated Unified Communications systems.

Desirable Qualifications

While not essential, the following qualifications would be highly advantageous:

  • Cisco CCNP, Cisco CCIE (Voice, UC or Security), or equivalent certifications.
