Lorien partners with Nationwide to spark tech transformation with 500 hires and new tech hub

We’re delighted to announce that Lorien has been selected as the technology recruitment partner to Nationwide – the world’s largest building society. We’re excited to support the Society spark technology transformation through their people and prime the business for the next generation of digital innovation.

This recruitment drive is the latest initiative in Nationwide’s digital transformation, which will see a multi-billion tech investment over the next five years, including the launch of a brand new technology hub in London. Previous initiatives include one of the largest SAP Core Banking deployments globally and building digital distribution channels simultaneously to become the second fastest growing digital banking provider in the UK.

Now, they’re looking for people to support with the next phase, including:

• Re-platforming of digital assets, including digitisation and multi-channel technology integration across the high street and mobile channel estate to deliver a better member experience.
• Significant operating model changes driven by Agile adoption, DevOps standards and cloud exploitation.
• Simplifying Nationwide’s data estate and increasing investment in AI and machine learning to enhance analytics and insight capabilities.
• A future-focussed innovation agenda, including creating a £50m FinTech venture fund and launching Open Banking aggregation services.
• Simplifying application and infrastructure platforms to enable growth, as well as developing a greenfield digital platform to develop products and propositions for the future.
