Data Scientist (Credit Risk)

Summary:

Exciting opportunity to join our baking client on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will bring 3+ years of overall relevant experience (ideally in fintech or credit), and a genuine enthusiasm for data driven solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and refine rules to identify and reduce financial risk
• Analyze complex cases and uncover root causes of loss
• Define strategic approaches for various risk categories
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to enhance control systems
• Present strategy proposals and oversee implementation
• Balance customer eligibility with effective loss prevention

Qualifications:

• 3+ years in risk analytics, data science, or related fields in fintech or digital payments
• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline or equivalent experience
• Skilled in statistical modeling and business problem-solving using data
• Proficient in SQL, Python, Excel, and data science libraries
• Experienced with large-scale datasets and dashboard tools like Tableau
• Strong communicator with ability to translate insights across technical and business audiences
