Lead DC Service Technician
Denver, CO

Experience Required: 5+ years in DC Power (Telecom, UPS, Utilities)

We are seeking an experienced Lead DC Service Technician to join our Phoenix team. In this role, you will lead field operations, oversee complex installations, ensure compliance with safety standards, and mentor junior technicians. Your expertise will directly support critical infrastructure for clients in the telecom, UPS, and utility sectors.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hands-on DC Power experience, including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting
  • Proven experience with batteries, rectifiers, and power distribution systems
  • Ability to perform diagnostics, including load tests, voltage and gravity readings, to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time, including overnight stays
  • Commitment to safety standards and compliance protocols


Key Responsibilities

  • Install and maintain batteries and rectifier plants across all voltage levels, ensuring compliance with customer and industry standards
  • Perform ironwork and cable rack installations, including specialized work in Zone 4 environments
  • Maintain and test DC power systems (PBDs, BDFBs, BDCBBs), including load tests, voltage readings, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance
  • Manage DC power plant upgrades and replacements, ensuring smooth integration and minimal service disruption
  • Run, crimp, lace, and manage power cables to maintain proper functionality and connectivity
  • Prepare test reports, Method of Procedure (MOP) documents, and maintain accurate records of work performed
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, handling inquiries, providing progress updates, and ensuring customer satisfaction
  • Work with AC power systems from 120V single-phase to 480V three-phase while maintaining strict safety compliance
  • Oversee job sites, conduct daily tail-gate safety meetings, inspect tools and equipment, identify hazards, and enforce company safety policies
  • Train and mentor Level 1 and 2 technicians, fostering professional growth and crew effectiveness
  • Communicate regularly with supervisors regarding job progress, material needs, and engineering changes
  • Collaborate within team environments using strong interpersonal skills, active listening, and conflict resolution
