DC Power Technician
Milwaukee or Madison, WI


Job Summary:

We are seeking a DC Power Technician to support telecom infrastructure projects across Wisconsin. This hands-on role involves installing and maintaining DC power systems-including rectifiers, batteries, and UPS systems-under the guidance of a Lead Installer. Responsibilities include pulling large-gauge cables, building infrastructure, and interpreting electrical diagrams. Technician must be willing to travel throughout the Milwaukee & Madison region (per-diem will be provided when traveling).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install and maintain DC power systems (24VDC, 48VDC, 130VDC), rectifiers, UPS, and battery plants
  • Pull, lace, terminate, and label large power cables (e.g., 500 MCM, 750 MCM)
  • Build and install cable racking, ironwork, and related infrastructure
  • Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and line diagrams
  • Perform testing and troubleshooting using tools such as DVMs, DLROs, and hydrometers
  • Adhere to all safety and quality standards at active job sites
  • Travel and shift work required as needed


Position Requirements:

  • 1-2 years of experience with AC/DC electrical systems in telecom, mechanical, or industrial environments (UPS/DC power systems preferred).
  • Hands-on experience with large cables and elevated work (ladders, lifts, etc.)
  • Familiarity with BDFB/BDCBB installations, VRLA/NiCAD batteries, and UPS systems
  • Ability to work from schematics and use common test tools
  • Understanding of Ohm's Law and basic electrical safety practices
  • High school diploma required; degree or military electrical background preferred
