Overview:
We're seeking a highly skilled Lead Technician with hands-on experience in live broadcast, data center, or telecom environments. The ideal candidate will lead installation projects from start to finish, maintain cabling systems and documentation, and mentor peers while upholding best practices and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support integration projects from kickoff to client hand-off
- Install and terminate coax, fiber, network, and multi-conductor cabling
- Design rack cable layouts and interpret VidCAD drawings, wire lists, and elevations
- Perform rack mechanics and equipment installations
- Stage materials, manage inventory, and maintain shop organization
- Use tools like Fluke DSX5000, Paladin 1570, and Cable IQ for system testing
- Train and mentor team members on installation standards and SOPs
- Ensure safety protocols are followed and promote a collaborative team environment
- Communicate project updates in real-time (calls, emails, status reports)
- Identify and improve workflow processes when applicable
- Complete additional duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications:
- High school diploma, GED, or vocational training preferred
- Certifications like FOI, FOA (CFOT/CPCT), BICSI, SCTE, or low voltage are a plus
- VidCAD experience is a plus
- CPR/AED certification preferred but not required
