JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Construction Manager is responsible for all technical aspects of telecommunications equipment deployment at assigned job sites for a customer unit. This role is the market leader and decision-maker on all issues within its scope. Responsibilities include ensuring site appropriateness for deployment, selecting suppliers, negotiating out-of-scope or non-FPP (Fixed Price Package) items, resolving equipment and material issues, planning and scheduling installations, managing budgets, and delegating administrative tasks. The Senior Construction Manager handles more complex jobs/sites and provides guidance to Field Construction Managers, assisted by the Construction Coordinator, Field Construction Manager, and Remote Construction Manager as needed.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Analyze and recommend project effort levels to the Customer Project Manager for budget development.
- Analyze and manage the scope of work contracted by the customer, including planning and execution.
- Manage planning and scheduling crews in compliance with Allocation Strategy and Site Level TCR Readiness.
- Manage site costs through negotiation and approval of non-FPP/change requests with suppliers.
- Provide performance feedback on suppliers and Cx resources.
- Utilize build and deployment expertise to evaluate job/site appropriateness, select suppliers, build job/site scope, develop plans, and ensure construction is performed correctly, on time, and within budget.
- Interface with customers and internal/external personnel regarding project status, delays, and execution.
- Oversee and review all construction to ensure it is performed safely and correctly, addressing issues with suppliers as needed.
- Lead market meetings with Field Construction Managers and Construction Coordinators.
- Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to Field Construction Managers and Remote Construction Managers.
- Assess post-incident reviews with suppliers and provide corrective steps.
- Drive cycle time performance for all assigned KPIs.
- Prepare various reports, analyses, and presentations on job/site progress and resolutions.
- Assign administrative tasks to supporting organizations.
- Provide performance-related feedback for yearly evaluations.
