Job description
Job Title: Security Software Engineer
Job Type: Direct Hire
Pay Range: 150,000-225,000 (depends on experience level)
Location: Onsite in Orange County, CA

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain security-focused tooling for Linux-based and Android-enabled systems operating in constrained or embedded environments.
  • Develop and support an endpoint monitoring and detection agent responsible for enforcing critical security protections across deployed devices.
  • Partner with software, platform, and systems teams to translate security requirements into practical, deployable solutions.
  • Create and execute test strategies that validate behavior, resilience, and reliability of security-sensitive components.
  • Review code for correctness, performance, and adherence to modern secure development practices.
  • Investigate emerging threats and evolving attack techniques to inform ongoing improvements to defensive tooling.

Required Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience developing software using one or more of the following: Go, Rust, C, or C++.
  • Working knowledge of Linux internals with a strong emphasis on system security and observability.
  • Experience leveraging eBPF or related mechanisms to inspect or instrument Linux behavior.
  • Proven ability to profile, debug, and improve performance of low-level or system-adjacent software.
  • Familiarity with automated testing frameworks and CI/CD pipelines, including use cases involving embedded or mobile platforms.
  • Solid grounding in core cybersecurity concepts, including detection, monitoring, and defensive controls.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance.
  • Experience designing or implementing endpoint detection and response capabilities.
  • Exposure to Android application or platform-level development.
  • Understanding of security standards, frameworks, or compliance-driven environments.
  • Background in incident response, threat investigation, forensics, or security operations workflows.
  • Strong analytical thinking skills and the ability to communicate effectively within cross-functional teams.
