Recruiter
Talent Acquisition Specialist / Recruiter- 3 month+ contract
This role is responsible for full‑cycle recruiting support, partnering closely with hiring managers to understand current and future hiring needs and deliver qualified talent. The recruiter sources, screens, interviews, and recommends candidates while ensuring compliance with federal and state employment laws and internal staffing policies.
Responsibilities include proactively sourcing candidates through applicant tracking systems, databases, networking, referrals, cold outreach, recruiting firms, job boards, and campus or community events. The role conducts candidate interviews, evaluates qualifications, verifies licensing or eligibility requirements, and manages reference and background checks. The recruiter coordinates interviews and travel as needed, communicates employment opportunities, offers, and rejections, and maintains accurate employment records.
This position advises hiring managers and employees on staffing policies, recruitment strategies, and retention programs; supports job fairs and hiring events; evaluates recruitment processes for effectiveness and compliance; and may participate on selection or examination boards. The role may also assist with recruitment budgeting, oversee clerical recruiting support, and represent the organization at conferences or community outreach events.
Qualifications
- 1+ year of Talent Acquisition or full‑cycle recruiting experience
- Ability to proactively source and engage active and passive candidates
- Strong relationship‑building skills with hiring managers and candidates
- Experience managing multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and ATS tools
- Experience with Taleo, Workday, or Phenom preferred
- High‑volume recruiting and hiring event experience preferred
- Up to 30% travel may be required
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
- Reliable, punctual attendance required
