About the Organization:
A leading Texas-based public utility responsible for delivering electricity, water, and critical infrastructure is expanding its telecommunications network to strengthen grid communications and connectivity across the state.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to join the Telecom PMO team. This role will lead multi-year projects focused on fiber network expansion, telecom facility construction (shelters and towers), interconnect access points, and network equipment deployment. The Sr. Project Manager will be responsible for bridging technical expertise with execution in the field, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 8+ years leading telecom projects (fiber expansion, telecom facility construction, networking).
- Experience with land easements.
- Familiarity with telecom networking devices, customer access points, and tower/shelter deployments.
- Proficiency with P6 and PeopleSoft.
- Experience using dashboards for project tracking/reporting.
- Experience coordinating large project teams.
Required Qualifications:
- 9+ years of experience in project management, project controls, or work package management.
- 2+ years directly managing projects (scope, schedule, budget).
- Strong telecom construction experience (fiber, towers, shelters, bandwidth upgrades).
- Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Engineering, Construction Management, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience per guidelines).
- Valid driver's license.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead large-scale, multi-year telecom projects within the telecom portfolio.
- Develop and execute project plans, including budgets, schedules, and resource allocation.
- Coordinate and oversee vendors, contractors, and internal teams.
- Track progress and report project status to stakeholders.
- Ensure delivery of telecom infrastructure improvements that strengthen critical grid communications.
