Role Summary

We're looking for a skilled Linux Client Platform Engineer to join our team on a contract basis. This role will be instrumental in strengthening the security posture of our Linux endpoint fleet, ensuring full compliance with Dropbox's internal security standards and external regulatory requirements. You'll work closely with internal experts and external partners to implement robust security controls and drive strategic improvements.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Spearhead the deployment of security measures across Linux endpoints to meet compliance goals by Q3 2025.
  • Partner with teams including CIT, Infra, DART, Infra Security, Identity, and CorpOps to ensure cohesive execution.
  • Evaluate and implement Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions and other endpoint control mechanisms.
  • Apply CIS hardening benchmarks to all approved Linux operating systems.
  • Oversee device certificate management and enforce disk encryption protocols.
  • Design and execute a phased rollout strategy for security controls, minimizing user disruption.
  • Provide technical leadership and support to internal stakeholders throughout the implementation process.
  • Ensure all blocking actions generate log events for DART analysis.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation and reporting for audit and compliance tracking.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Demonstrated expertise in Linux system administration and endpoint security.
  • Solid understanding of compliance frameworks such as SOC 2 and ISO 27001.
  • Hands-on experience with MDM platforms and endpoint security tools (e.g., Jamf, Intune, FleetDM).
  • Familiarity with CIS benchmarks and system hardening techniques.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a similar role within a large enterprise setting.
  • Exposure to tools like Zscaler and Crowdstrike.
