Sr. Construction Manager (Sr. CM)
San Francisco, CA

The Sr. Construction Manager is responsible for all technical aspects of telecommunications equipment deployment and ASP management at assigned sites/venues. This includes site evaluation, supplier management, materials distribution, scheduling, construction oversight, safety compliance, and project delivery in line with company and customer standards. The Sr. CM also partners with Remote Construction Managers (RCMs) and supports Customer Project Managers as needed.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of related telecom/construction experience (degree preferred).
  • Technical/trade coursework in MCA Small Cell RAN systems.
  • Experience managing general contractors, estimating construction scope, and overseeing backhaul and maintenance projects.
  • Familiarity with site acquisition, zoning, permitting, leasing, and environmental compliance.
  • Knowledge of Ericsson and customer construction/quality standards (experience on Ericsson equipment a plus).
  • OSHA 30-hour certification for telecommunications industry.
  • Strong understanding of contracts, budgets, and EHS statutory requirements.
  • Field experience across both large and small venues.


Responsibilities

  • Perform site feasibility walks; establish venue contacts for scheduling/access, identify conflicts, verify routing using iBwave, and develop mitigation plans.
  • Analyze/develop SOW and BOM, collaborate with RF design teams, and manage execution against customer requirements.
  • Manage construction readiness, crew scheduling, material delivery, and overall project execution within budget and timelines.
  • Oversee construction activities to ensure scope, quality, and safety standards are met; perform EHS safety audits.
  • Address supplier quality concerns, resolve access/material issues, and communicate status to project stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with internal/external teams, including customers, property owners, contractors, and local authorities.
  • Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to ASPs, crews, and RCMs.
  • Monitor progress, adjust schedules/budgets as needed, and deliver reports on production and quality.
  • Support RF design phase by identifying optimal small cell/DOT placements and ensuring design feasibility.
  • Validate project completion, manage punch list items, and confirm final acceptance.
  • Partner with Senior/Remote Construction Managers to drive supplier accountability and resolve issues.
  • Deliver performance feedback for ASPs and other personnel.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the project team.

  • Microsoft Office and project databases (e.g., Site Tracker)
  • EHS standards and OSHA compliance
  • Industry best practices and close-out documentation
