Business Analyst (Sales Ops)
Position Overview
As a Business Analyst in this role, you'll play a key part in driving both internal and client-facing initiatives across Business Operations, Innovation/IC, and Sales/Growth teams. You'll collaborate with colleagues across Canada, the U.S., and globally, as well as with external partners, to support strategic deliverables, streamline processes, and enhance business performance. This position offers a unique opportunity to deepen your expertise in health and benefits while applying your technical, operational, financial, and project management skills on high-impact initiatives. Success in this role requires a balance of independent execution and team collaboration, along with the ability to turn ideas into actionable outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on and strategic support across a variety of fast-paced projects, adapting quickly to shifting priorities and business needs.
- Alternate between execution and oversight roles, depending on the project stage and team structure.
- Apply critical thinking and creativity to both qualitative and quantitative initiatives.
- Manage and evolve the operating model, including tools, templates, processes, and survey data.
- Lead or support the migration of tools and workflows to global platforms or delivery centers.
- Aggregate and validate data from multiple sources to ensure completeness and accuracy.
- Analyze and report on key performance metrics using internal systems and survey tools.
- Partner with Operations Leaders, Project Managers, analysts, and external vendors to refine data collection and delivery processes.
- Gain a comprehensive understanding of business operations to manage financial workflows such as commissions, WIP, and AR.
- Collaborate with Finance and Operations to design and implement revenue management processes.
- Contribute to commercialization strategies and marketing initiatives led by Innovation and Growth teams.
- Maintain CRM data integrity for client and prospect records.
- Coordinate with the Research IC Team to ensure timely and accurate deliverables.
- Provide weekly project updates to leadership, escalating issues when needed.
- Embrace change by taking on new and evolving projects as they emerge.
- Foster strong internal relationships and contribute to cross-functional collaboration.
Qualifications
- At least 5 years of experience in group insurance benefits, ideally from brokering, consulting, or underwriting roles.
- Demonstrated proficiency with technology tools that drive efficiency and innovation.
- Solid financial knowledge, including general accounting, economics, and bookkeeping.
- Strong initiative and a results-driven mindset with a focus on timely execution.
- Proven ability to identify problems, collaborate across disciplines, and implement effective solutions.
- Trusted team player who is organized, dependable, and consistently meets or exceeds expectations.
- Creative thinker who can develop and implement process improvements.
- Deep understanding of business operations and financial workflows.
- Excellent problem-solving and prioritization skills.
- Comfortable working across all levels of an organization, from peers to senior leadership.
- Self-starter with a collaborative spirit and the ability to thrive under pressure.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with CRM Dynamics, including report generation and Power BI dashboard creation.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent post-secondary education required.
