Lead DAS Technician
South Florida (West Palm - Miami)
Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Lead DAS Technician to join our growing wireless team in the South Florida region. This individual will serve as the on-site lead, ensuring installations meet quality and safety standards while directing technicians and subcontractors. Projects will include DAS, small cell, and private 4G/5G wireless systems across diverse enterprise environments.
Responsibilities:
- Lead on-site installation crews, ensuring adherence to project timelines and quality standards
- Collaborate with Field and Project Managers while exercising independent judgment as needed
- Conduct and document site walks for small venues and retail locations
- Perform and oversee coax and fiber cable pulling and termination
- Transport tools and materials as required
- Complete coax cable terminations and conduct PIM & Sweep testing
- Operate and interpret results from Anritsu Site Master and other RF test equipment
- Interpret IBW design documentation and installation components
- Perform fusion splicing and fiber optic testing
- Assist with commissioning, tuning, and troubleshooting wireless systems
- Collect and submit closeout documentation and site photos
- Enforce job site safety protocols and compliance with building codes
- Maintain accurate timesheets for assigned crew
- Physically capable of lifting 50 lbs, climbing ladders, and carrying materials on-site
Qualifications:
- 2-5 years of experience as a DAS Technician
- Proficient in coax and fiber cable installation, termination, and testing
- Skilled in coax cable termination, PIM, and sweep testing
- Experience with Anritsu or similar RF test equipment
- Competent in fusion splicing and fiber optic testing
- Basic understanding of frequency bands, protocols, and DAS components
