Title: Senior Platform Security Engineer
Location: Dallas, TX (Onsite)
Pay: $75.00-85.00/hour, depends on experience level
Type: 6 month contract with ability to extend

Job Duties

• Research, design, and develop next-generation technologies that strengthen vehicle access security and prevent theft, unauthorized use, and system compromise.
• Create security solutions that establish trust at the lowest levels of the platform, beginning with hardware and firmware.
• Drive projects from concept and experimentation through prototyping, validation, production implementation, and deployment.
• Collaborate with hardware, embedded software, systems, and product engineering teams to transform security concepts into real-world solutions.
• Design and develop secure platform capabilities involving device identity, trusted execution, authentication, cryptography, and hardware-backed security.
• Investigate emerging attack techniques targeting connected and electronic vehicle systems and develop new defenses.
• Evaluate how attackers might bypass, clone, replay, emulate, or manipulate vehicle access technologies and develop effective countermeasures.
• Develop proof-of-concept solutions and advanced prototypes that advance automotive security.
• Contribute to platform architecture decisions that shape the long-term security of future vehicle products.
• Solve complex technical challenges at the intersection of hardware, firmware, cryptography, and embedded systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or other relevant technical discipline
• 6-8+ years of overall related engineering experience
• Strong background developing firmware, embedded software, platform software, or other low-level systems that operate close to hardware.
• Deep understanding of secure boot, root of trust, chain of trust, trusted execution environments, device identity, and hardware-backed security concepts.
• Proficiency in C and C++ development.
• Experience working with microcontrollers, SoCs, embedded processors, silicon platforms, or security-focused hardware architectures.
• Knowledge of cryptography, authentication protocols, key management, secure provisioning, and secure communications.
• Experience designing security solutions for automotive systems, connected devices, IoT products, wireless technologies, cellular platforms, or telecommunications equipment.
• Familiarity with bootloaders, firmware architecture, embedded Linux, operating system startup processes, and platform initialization.
• Ability to think like an attacker and identify how physical or logical access systems could be bypassed, cloned, spoofed, or manipulated.
• Experience conducting technical research, developing prototypes, and translating new ideas into deployable, scalable solutions.
